About the Role

We are seeking an experienced B2 Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) – ATR 42/72 to join an established aviation operator supporting regional and remote operations across Papua New Guinea.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced B2 engineer to work within a dynamic aviation environment, supporting line and base maintenance activities while playing a key role in maintaining aircraft safety, serviceability and operational reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform and certify scheduled and unscheduled avionics and electrical maintenance on ATR 42/72 aircraft.

• Conduct aircraft inspections, defect identification, troubleshooting and rectification.

• Diagnose and rectify complex avionics, electrical, instrument, communication and navigation system faults.

• Certify completed maintenance and issue certificates of release to service within licence and company authorisations.

• Carry out functional checks and operational tests of aircraft avionics systems.

• Interpret and utilise relevant AMM, WDM, FIM, IPC, SRM and other approved technical publications.

• Troubleshoot aircraft communication, navigation, flight guidance, instrumentation and electrical systems.

• Support aircraft defect management and provide technical solutions to minimise aircraft downtime.

• Complete maintenance documentation, technical records and certification accurately and progressively.

• Supervise and provide technical guidance to AMEs and avionics technicians where required.

• Support line and base maintenance activities across PNG operations.

• Ensure all maintenance activities are completed using approved tooling, test equipment and maintenance data.

• Maintain high standards of FOD prevention, housekeeping and workplace safety.

• Liaise with Flight Operations, Engineering, Maintenance Control and other operational stakeholders.

• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with applicable PNG aviation regulations, Part 145 requirements and company procedures.

• Promote a strong safety, quality and human factors culture.

• Provide technical input into maintenance planning and aircraft reliability initiatives.

Essential Requirements

• Current B2 Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) licence.

• ATR 42/72 B2 type rating and relevant aircraft approvals.

• Minimum 5 years' aircraft maintenance experience, with significant ATR 42/72 avionics experience.

• Demonstrated experience performing and certifying avionics maintenance.

• Strong knowledge of aircraft electrical, avionics, communication, navigation and instrumentation systems.

• Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding capability.

• Ability to interpret aircraft wiring diagrams and technical documentation.

• Experience using aircraft test equipment and specialist avionics tooling.

• Ability to work independently and effectively within a small engineering team.

• Strong understanding of aviation safety, quality and regulatory requirements.

• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively in remote and challenging operational environments.

• Current Human Factors training.

• Ability to obtain and maintain the appropriate PNG licence validation or authorisation.

Desirable

• ATR 42/72 experience in regional, charter or remote operations.

• Experience working within a Part 145 Maintenance Organisation.

• Previous PNG or international aviation experience.

• Experience with ATR 42/72-212 and/or ATR 42/72-600 series aircraft.

• Combined B1/B2 licence.

• Previous experience as a Senior B2 LAME, Lead Engineer or Base Engineer.

• Experience with avionics modifications, service bulletins and aircraft upgrades.

• Experience with electronic maintenance and technical records systems.

• Experience working within a FIFO/touring maintenance environment.
