About the Role

We are seeking an experienced B1 Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) – ATR 42/72 to join an established aviation operator supporting regional and remote operations across Papua New Guinea.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced ATR engineer looking to work in a dynamic aviation environment, supporting line and base maintenance operations while playing a key role in maintaining aircraft airworthiness, safety and operational reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform and certify scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on ATR 42/72 aircraft.

• Conduct aircraft inspections, defect identification, troubleshooting and rectification.

• Certify completed maintenance and release aircraft to service within licence and company authorisations.

• Complete maintenance in accordance with approved maintenance data, aircraft manuals, engineering instructions and company procedures.

• Interpret and utilise relevant AMM, SRM, IPC, WDM, FIM and other technical publications.

• Supervise and provide technical guidance to AMEs, technicians and other maintenance personnel as required.

• Complete maintenance documentation, technical records and certification accurately.

• Support line and base maintenance activities across PNG operations.

• Assist with aircraft defect management and troubleshooting to minimise aircraft downtime.

• Maintain high standards of tooling, equipment, FOD prevention and workplace safety.

• Provide technical input into maintenance planning and aircraft reliability.

• Liaise with Flight Operations, Engineering, Maintenance Control and other operational stakeholders.

• Ensure maintenance activities comply with applicable PNG aviation regulations, Part 145 requirements and approved company procedures.

• Promote a strong safety, quality and human factors culture.

• Support continuous improvement of maintenance practices and operational reliability.

Essential Requirements

• Current B1 Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) licence.

• ATR 42/72 B1 type rating and relevant aircraft approvals.

• Minimum 5 years' aircraft maintenance experience, with significant ATR 42/72 experience.

• Demonstrated experience performing and certifying line and/or base maintenance.

• Strong knowledge of aircraft maintenance practices, procedures and technical documentation.

• Ability to work independently and effectively within a small engineering team.

• Strong understanding of aviation safety, quality and regulatory requirements.

• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively in remote and challenging operational environments.

• Current Human Factors training.

• Ability to obtain and maintain the appropriate PNG licence validation or authorisation.

Desirable

• ATR 42/72 experience in regional, charter or remote operations.

• Experience working within a Part 145 Maintenance Organisation.

• Previous PNG or international aviation experience.

• Experience with ATR 42/72-212 and/or ATR 42/72-600 series aircraft.

• Additional B2 licence or avionics experience.

• Previous experience as a Senior LAME, Lead Engineer or Base Engineer.

• Experience working within a FIFO/touring maintenance environment.

• Familiarity with electronic maintenance and technical records systems.
